Vancouver graphic design and film post-production
Here we go! My frequent collaborator Molly Nemecek and I have just kicked off a new webcomic! All light-hearted humour and adventure. Our precise roles overlap, but in general: I'm the writer, thumbnail-sketcher, environment (background) artist, colourist and letterer, and Molly is the character artist extraordinaire. Film promotional materials designed for Industry Works Pictures and New Image Entertainment. I created the logotype that's now used in all the promotions. For the poster element, I utilized a 3D rendered image from the film's post-production work (by Black Arts Media) as the basis, along with a bunch of urban stock photos. I also wrote the film blurbs!
This design ended up being featured on CNN, Badass Digest and several other outlets as an example of memorable film marketing. (They even quoted my copy directly.) New Image wanted to change the title, but somehow we convinced them not to :)
Quickie poster for a talented duo in Vancouver. As far as I know, the concept is pretty unique in a “Wow, that should’ve been obvious” sort of way. It went over very well!
Some work with Hanes. They are very particular about how they want things to look, and I was happy to oblige them.
I also wrote (and re-wrote) a lot of their ad copy over the course of working with their supplied materials. The company was pleased with how I refined their words.
A few randomly-ordered pages from Even Death May Die!, a webcomic by myself, with assistance from my oft-collaborator Molly Nemecek. A work where I get to invent a whole world, dabbling in creating graphic designs, architecture, industrial design and retro-future technology with wild abandon — all stuck together with a Lovecraftian noir-influenced pulp adventure plot and snarky dialogue.
EDMD updates rarely, but that could change if people gave me more time. In the form of money. :)
